I have this box enabled on one chartbook and set it so that it hides with a click on the chart which also turns off the crosshair. However when opening a new chartbook this box is replicated in the same place and if I move it then it is also moved in the original chartbook. How do you turn off this synchronisation?

Yes I had read that and have now figured out how to alter/move it separately for each chart, but using the Windows menu to turn it off in one chartbook automatically turns it off in the other and I can't find any reference to making the chartbooks independent in this regard so that it is on in one and off in another. Even turning off the Display Values option in Chart Settings still leaves a small box with the Y value, date and Time.

Yes this is true. Showing the Compact Tool Values Window is not Chartbook specific.

i think a good option to activate the 'Compact Tool Values Window' would be middle mouse click and it would either go to the normal position or the saved per chart position or you could even have it displaced or offset and floating around your mouse pointer. that would be the best way for the CTV window to work.

This is not how it is designed and it will not change.

The documentation explains how it is designed to work.
