I looked at a solution to a user's need for a custom index, by tomgilb: Creating OHLC chart of a custom index

Is it possible to modify "Sum Charts from List" or create a similar study, for use on sub-charts (like how Overlay Study works, by picking chart#, then subchart), and having a multiplier per subchart for weighting?

Ideally it would also be able to do bars (HLC) (or in a later version).

It seems "Sum Charts from List" only sums Main Charts, without multipliers per each (scaling issues make that not-so-useful).

Maybe you could just modify or enhance that study to add multipliers and accomodate subcharts?

I could probably do this by one more set of subcharts to create another spreadsheet study to combine & weight them, but I have 3 complex spreadsheets running already on second & minute charts, tick-by-tick;
I suspect that more redundancy-load could cause lag (a LOT is going on).

Wouldn't a new Sum Subcharts with Multiplier study likely be more processor-efficient, not having to hide subcharts nor have a spreadsheet?

There would be other useful, handy advantages to this, and be easy for novice S.C. users not comfortable with spreadsheet formulas.

The "Sum Charts from List" study does support multipliers. Refer to the documentation for it here:

You can modify it to do what you want. Here is the documentation for that:

It's probably easy for you guys to modify, but I'm no C++ programmer.

I'm not getting much response yet from your contract programmers list.

Will you be taking on programming jobs anytime soon, again?

Meanwhile: What's the limit on how many studies one chart can have, if I was to use Overlay studies, instead?

Will each overlay study added after a spreadsheet was created... get added to that spreadsheet? (It seems like I saw that happen).

Or should I just create a new spreadsheet after? (hate to do that).

We cannot take any custom user programming at this time.

A chart can have up to 255 studies.

All studies that are on the chart will be outputted to the Sheet used by the Spreadsheet Study which is on the same chart.
