SC Team - I am running into frequent issues when a new chart is created which is volume based. I am realizing the issue only after noticing some or other un-expected discrepancy and end up noticing "Split Data Records" to be in checked state.

Is there any way to make it "unchecked" by default ( only when needed one can check it ). I never use ( or like to use) this option for any type of chart that I can recall.

If it is not possible - can you atleast provide an ACSIL function to disable it?

Thanks

by marking this as User discussion - You have missed one of those opportunities for you to make it meaningful.

Don't know the reason you opted for making "split" default and you could have easily provided an option to disable it.

Obviously every one's need is different and though this is not a show stopper - certainly doesn't make sense to make split as default and no option to disable it.

Just an advice - You should really open a section in the forum - to open threads for which you don't have to respond any time soon.

One can open the feature requests or non-critical in that sub-forum and you can check whenever your time permits ( whenever that is ) - it doesn't take away your cycles by going through all the threads all the time..

This will not work. If we follow this rule, the time will never come that those threads will ever get looked at. Or they would get look at years later. It simply just will not work.

You know very well Sierra Chart provides Duplicate chart functionality which is a method to use defaults. And you can have multiple default configurations by being able to duplicate any existing chart. Now not everyone may like this method, but it is more than satisfactory and gives a lot of flexibility. You can even duplicate to the File >> Find Symbol window.

Furthermore, longer-term, ACSIL will support the ability to alter all chart settings. But this is not going to come for some time. Not until probably later next year.

SC Team - Yes I am aware of duplicate chart functionality and it really is a nice feature (along with study collections) and that is what I use as a work around at present. However I would think this split record is just doesn't appear like a correct one to me to be made as default ( I just can't think of other options - which are marked as default which needs to be corrected except this one).

Thanks
