Hi,
I would like to get real-time data for futures contract of "E-mini S&P 500" and "Russel 2000 Mini".
1. Are these ES and RJ respectively in SierraChart ?
2. I have a TD Ameritrade account in which the russel 2000 appears as TF and not RJ. I am confused...what is the right symbol ?
3. Which exchanges should be activated to get these data feeds?
4. Which exchange should be activated for E-Mini NASDAQ 100 (NQ) ?
Thanks.

1. These are supported by Sierra Chart. Any symbol is.

2. It will be the symbol you see listed for the service you are using. So it will be TF. However, TD Ameritrade does not provide futures data over the connection that Sierra Chart uses to TD Ameritrade.

3. You need to use CME Group (which requires a futures trading account) and ICE US.

4. CME Group

For some services the symbol for the Mini Russell futures begins with RJ.

Thanks for the clarifications.
I didnt understand #2.
1. If i purchase the real time data feed and activate the relevant exchanges, I will have real time data for the Russell mini 2000 under the RJ symbol (by using the Sierra Chart Real-Time and Historical Exchange Data Feed) ?
2. And if based on that data I would like to transmit orders to my TD Ameritrade account, I will have to specify orders for TF symbol?
Are the sierra chart RJ and TD Ameritrade TF the same (in terms of price, volume etc) ?

Thanks,
R.

1. This is explained here:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php#Integration

The symbol will be RJ when using the "SC Exchange Data" service. Otherwise the symbol is what you see listed for the particular trading service you are using.

2. TD Ameritrade does not support futures data or futures trading with the connection Sierra Chart uses. This simply will not work at all.

So you can see, you have to pay $100 for ICE US exchange fee and you cannot trade that symbol through TD Ameritrade.

Does this make sense? Probably not.

So you will probably want to find a different broker to trade with. Have a look at the supported services here:

Hi,
You mention that TD Ameritrade does not support futures data or trading.
1. BUT regarding the data... I get the data using "Sierra Chart Real-Time and Historical Exchange Data Feed" (35 USD), no ?
so i do not need the data from TD Ameritrade.

2. Regarding trading, TD Ameritrade appears as one of the trading services that you do support ("Integration with Trading Services"). so i cannot trade TD Ameritrade futures but can trade other assets (stocks, options) or nothing at all ?

3. Inability to trade with TD Ameritrade account is just for ICEUS futures or true for any other exchanges futures (CME for instance) ?

1. You also have to pay the exchange fees and ICE US is an additional 100 USD a month.

2. You can trade stocks and options only.

3. You cannot trade any futures through TD Ameritrade when using Sierra Chart.

Ok.
Regarding #1: S&P and NASDAQ E-minis (ES and NQ) are both in CME, right ? (3.25$)
so in order to get real time data for both it will cost me 35 for the data feed + 3.25 for the exchange per month ?

I am not sure you do it, but if i am checking an alternative for trade services now (since you say i cannot integrate with TD for futures), can you suggest an alternative with reasonable open api for trading (preferred REST API's with .net libraries) or once its done from SC connection it doesn't really matter how the trading service is exposed since my integration is determined by SC API ?

Yes.

Have a look at Optimus Futures:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/OptimusRithmic.php

Sierra Chart provides a standardized market data and trading interface no matter what Data or Trading service you are connected to. It uses the DTC Protocol. Here is the documentation:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_DTCServer.php

This is superior to any proprietary REST or .NET API. We do not regard REST as a good API.

can you share the api ?

There are two ways to do this. You could use ACSIL and the trading functions:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_ACSILTrading.html

Many examples are provided for ACSIL and that is the easiest way.

Or you can use the DTC Protocol Server:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_DTCServer.php

The DTC protocol server uses a network socket, so there is no API. It is a communications protocol. You can use JSON encoding and simply exchange JSON encoded text messages across a socket. Very simple. However, some knowledge of working with a network socket is necessary.
