I recently started tracking the ICE Brent Crude futures contract and I noticed that the intraday charts freeze periodically. I also follow half a dozen other futures contracts, including WTI Crude, and I have NEVER seen that happen to any of the CME products or even the ICE US Dollar Index futures. When I called CQG (my data vendor) to complain they told me that they don't send data directly to me but to your company and that I should contact SC instead. What do you think could be happening? Thank you in advance.

What is the exact symbol of the chart that is having this problem?

The real-time data comes direct from CQG to your copy of Sierra Chart.

The historical data comes from our own systems and we will check on the historical data to verify everything is OK with that symbol.

Symbol: F.US.QOZ15

Evidently, CQG support misinformed me yesterday.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the historical data or your system; the charts always load fine whenever I connect to the server. But then data begins streaming into them normally for a while before they spontaneously freeze. I'm currently monitoring the Euro session and it happened again a while back. WTI is still plotting normally right now at 4:00 AM EST, but Brent has been frozen since about 1:45 AM.

We do not see a problem with our historical data for this symbol as you expected.

When you notice the chart for that symbol not updating, select File >> Disconnect and File >> Connect to Data Feed. That will confirm it is a CQG issue if the chart then begins to update.

Another thing to look at is changes with the Bid and Ask prices in Window >> Current Quote Window. If those are not changing, this confirms the data feed has stopped from CQG.

These kinds of issues are not unusual the CQG Web API. There are known problems with market data using that service from CQG. We see them ourselves. They need to work out these problems and CQG has been told about them.
