Hello SC,
I poured through the manual but didn't find a way to create my own historical daily charts. Is it possible to do it? The data I have is date, open, high, low and close. I'd like to create a daily chart with each daily bar formed based on these 4 numbers.

Thank you!

Hi,
Thanks for the link. It worked! But here is another question: there is a "download failed" message before the chart appears. Why is that? Did I do something wrong?

Thanks again!

I created 20 daily charts in one chartbook with this method. Now I'm trying to create another one in the same chartbook, but the program tries to make this new one on an existing chart and then freezes. How do I resolve this problem? Thank you!

This is not clear for us.

Ok, this is what happened. Earlier, when I created the previous 20 charts (daily charts) in a chartbook, I simply went to "new/open historical chart" under "file". I selected the data file in the "open historical chart" window. The program would open a new tab in the chartbook and make the chart.

Now, I'm trying to create a new chart, which should be Chart No. 21 in the same chartbook. Say I'm on the chart No. 20. I select "new/open historical chart" under "file", then select the new data file in the window. Rather than opening a new tab, the program is trying to make this new chart on chart No. 20. And eventually, it freezes.

Does this make sense?

This is not what is actually happening. A new chart window is definitely being created. It must be. There is no other possibility.

But for some reason high CPU usage is occurring. This must be due to a problem with the data in the data file causing high CPU usage in Sierra Chart.

What happens when you close all of the charts by closing the Chartbook and then opening up this one chart data file that is causing a problem.

You are right - something wrong with the date file. I just made a new one and now it's working.

I still didn't know what went wrong. The data file was created the same way as the other 20 files. Anyway, thanks a lot! Have a great weekend!
