Deleting and Downloading or Editing of Data

I am currently experiencing problems deleting older data. I had a situation in which the volume was extremely out of proportion with prior volume as can be seen in the upload. I tried numerous times on the newest version as well as on my older version of sc to delete and download, but to no avail. Last and with the most time and work involved, I had to delete the files manually.
