Hi SC,

I am looking to draw ellipses on my charts for harmonic time analysis
the current tool, the 2 points selected end up being the corners of an ellipse.

these are not the important points for drawing ellipses.

can you please modify the tool such that:
1. the first click is the CENTER of the ellipse
2. the second click defines the CIRCUMFERENCE

the current tool, as it stands, is not usable for any type of geometric analysis.

with thanks

M

We are not able to take any new suggestions at this time.

If it is very important, consider paying for the development. It would be approximately at 37 USD per hour.

this suggestion is to bring it in line with other platforms.
when drawing an ellipse or circle, every platform i have seen lets the user select the midpoint and the circumference. the current way it is drawn is meaningless.

i love SC but this s a major pitfall.

if i pay for the development then what about all the other users who may want to use this feature? will every user pay for the development?
i could use my guy for custom indicators but this is so elementary and in my humble opinion should be standard on the platform. this is not an advanced custom indicator that I am suggesting.

market analyst screenshot attached.

I would appreciate it, and I am sure that other users who have had a look at the ellipse tool and wondered why it is designed like this would also appreciate it.

thanks

In the next version, the ellipse has a new option First Point Is Center. When this is set, the center can be placed first, and the second point will determine the bounds.

thank you for the first point is center option
but this doesnt allow the drawing of accurate arcs since the second point is NOT the radius/circumference but rather the circle is inscribed within a square/rectangle. currently the second point is the edge of an inscribed square and this does not allow arcs to be drawn.

if you can please fix this such that the first point is center AND the second point is the radius/circumference, then that will unlock sierra chart to cycle analysis, some Jenkins tools, tom demark arcs and many other types of analysis that are not currently possible in this platform.

thanks

In the next version, a new option was added to allow Second Point Is Radius. These two options will now allow a circle with center and radius to be drawn.

I have seen the option first point is center, this is nice. Can't wait for the second option(radius). If it works like i think i'm also very happy with this addition!!!
