I'm planning to build a new pc and I'm having questions regarding the cpu. Now I'm running on a notebook with a cpu i5-5200u which isn't really suitable for charting since it lags a lot. I have multiple volume profiles and when I'm scrolling across the chart it lags. I guess the cpu will be the most important part to run sierra chart so I'm wondering what CPU is good. I'm looking on the i7-6700k and i7-5820k. Will there be any significant perfomance gain with 6 cores over 4, 15 mb over 8 mb cache, quad channel support over dual etc.. what specific feature is important in the CPU if I want to load up my chart fast and be able to scroll across the chart (that has mulitple volume profiles where the volume bars is set to 1-3 ticks) without lag.

The following is general information:

You will be better off with more CPU cores. An Intel i7 is fine. You definitely want to use an SSD instead of a normal hard disk.

The other thing to consider is a fast graphics adapter but really they should all be fast enough.

I have also noticed that it is more prone to lag when I'm connected to the server. When I'm disconnected it doesn't as much. Why is that? I'm not sure what the cause is so I'm not really into getting a new pc before I know if it will be better.
