Hi, Is there a way to save the downloaded data so that you don't have to download it every time you start Sierra chart?

There is nothing special to do. Sierra Chart always saves the data. This is how Sierra Chart is designed.

When you connect to the data feed, or when Historical Daily charts are opened, there will be a download request to bring them up to date. However, the previous data downloaded and received in real-time is already there in the data files.

Maybe you are experiencing a problem with the Continuous Futures Contract feature? We recommend updating to the latest version because there have been some small changes made.

But I don't see a reason to re-download old data for contracts that has expired. I could save a lot of time when starting Sierra Chart if I could save data for expired contracts. Isn't that possible?

This most definitely could not be happening. There will be one data request to make sure they are up-to-date but this is all. That happens very fast.

Provide us evidence this is happening from the Message Log:

This is what I see on the chart and this takes several minutes before it's done.

That message does not indicate the downloading of historical data from the remote server. Indicates the loading of data from the local data file.

This indicates a performance problem. Refer to help topic 30 for solutions:

Is that a Continuous Futures Contract chart? If so, you might want to re-download the data for all contract months following these instructions:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_ContinuousFuturesContractCharts.html#ReDownloading

The reason for this suggestion is just in case there is some unknown data problem causing this issue which will be corrected by a re-download.
