Toolbar in version 1282 disabled

Hello, I have just downloaded the new version 1282. There is a problem with the Toolbar in the main Sierra window. I have all chart windows detached and use the main window only for this toolbar. But in this version the toolbar is all the time disabled which is very confusing. Can you help me to enable the tools in this toolbar that would work with all my open chart windows?

This is by design with the new Control Bar. For detached charts you need to use their own Control Bars which can be displayed through Window >> Toolbars. IMHO this is the step back. I usually have got 4 to 6 chartwindows in one chartbook and want to see them and work with them all at once. Therefore I have detached them and disabled title bar, scroll bar and menu bar for every chartwindow to save the space of my monitors. And now I have got for each chartwindow extra control bar that is using to much space that I need for displaying the charts. Can I disable them and have only one floating control bar for all chartwindows in my chartbook ? Or I have to have 4 floating control panels for 4 chartwindows which is really uncomfortable and slow ?

I also use detached chart windows and do not want a floating toolbar for each chart window. In my setup I have 1 toolbar for each monitor. For me, I only want to use a single toolbar for every chart window on that monitor. Each monitor may include 4-6 chart windows and I have 4 monitors. Disclaimer - I have not upgraded to a later version with the new control bar. I am trying to wait until it appears to work very close to how I am using the older version. |

OK, we will make a small change which should make this work as the old toolbars. However, keep in mind that control Bars are associated either with the main Sierra Chart window or with detached windows. All I need is to have only 1 control bar with tools (in the main window) working for all charts in the chartbook like it was working in the previous version 1261. So if the small change will solve this matter, that will be great. It will be fixed in the next upgrade ?

Hello support, is there an ETA for this upgrade / feature? I just upgraded Sierra (completely unaware of the entire Control Bar issue until after the fact), and am also interested in using one control bar attached to the main window to control all detached charts rather than having duplicate control bars for each detached window. With the new behavior the toolbars take up too much screen real estate and also if they remain attached, they get truncated if the chart window is not wide enough. This is not ideal for toolbars that are very wide (many buttons). The new control bars do seem much more powerful and customizable, and with this upgrade I really look forward to the change. Just curious when we can expect it. Thank you for all of your continued hard work! |
