Sierra Support,

My Berkshire Hathaway Class B Historical Data File (BRK[B.dly) does not maintain or store previous price/volume data. The TDA Stock Symbol is BRK/B and the price data throughout the trading session works fine, but the price data fails to be saved in the historical data file. After downloading the Historical data on June 3, 2013 no further price data has been saved to the file. Currently the Historical file is missing data from June 5 thru 7, 2013. I added June 4, 2013 data with my editor. I've used command Edit > Download Data - Historical Charts, both command options with no success. The command completes normally with no errors, but the data is still missing from the file. My Intraday file for the same stock symbol works fine, no missing data.

On Sierra Historical Data Feed the Stock Symbol is BRK.B and this work fine for End-of-Day price data, but not during trading hours. After trading session today I've updated Chart Setting, Symbol > BRK.B and Alternate Real-Time Update Symbol > BRK/B and the Historical Chart downloaded the missing data and displayed correctly. I've currently changed the Chart Settings back to just using the Symbol > BRK/B.

I also tried using symbol BRK.B on TDA data feed, but chart indicates symbol not found.

The Historical data file originated from Sierra Data Feed and was copied to work with the TDA data feed. If I remember correctly I had issues downloading Historical data from TDA. As a working standard I always download Sierra Historical Data for my Stock Symbols since I found the data to be more accurate than TDA in some issues.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated as usual.

I've uploaded the BRK[B.dly file for your review.

This is the correct way to do it when using the Sierra Chart Historical Data service:
On Sierra Historical Data Feed the Stock Symbol is BRK.B and this work fine for End-of-Day price data, but not during trading hours. After trading session today I've updated Chart Setting, Symbol > BRK.B and Alternate Real-Time Update Symbol > BRK/B and the Historical Chart downloaded the missing data and displayed correctly.

The Chart Settings should remain this way. We see no reason why you would want to change them. This what you should use always.

Thank You for the quick reply and help!!! I wasn't sure about the chart setting, but you clear that up for me. I've used the same chart setting for the indices, but haven't had to for stock symbols since the symbol ticker is usually the same. Thanks for clearing up this issue and making me wiser!
