Hey Guys,

I’m not sure if you guys remember, but a while ago we started having problems with the charts package, meaning that to this day we can connect normally to the trading platform but the charts have a connectivity problem, they won’t connect.

We thought that it was some kind of setup within the connection but it seems that it has to do with the internet provider. Please send us the sierra charts tech specs to be able to send them to the internet provider to solve the issue.

Thanks

Jose

We need to understand the problem better. Are you able to log into Sierra Chart?

The question is whether you are unable to login to the Sierra Chart charting and trading software, or unable to connect to the data feed/trade server. For help to answer this question, please review help topic number 62 here:

Clearly a proxy server is required. Follow the instructions here about this:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_HTTPCommunicationErrors.php#Proxy

You will need to find out from your ISP, the server address and port number of the proxy.

as a matter of fact, since the beginning, the ISP has been the same one, and the charts used to work

I tried to login with a new trial account directly through sierra charts, not through my infinity platform, and this comes up now

Show your ISP the HTML text after "Unknown server error. Text:". See if they recognize it.

Our only advice is to use a different ISP. This is some problem on your side with the ISP.

Might be a long shot, but go into your router a verify the dns you're getting from your isp and make sure you have the same dns #'s in windows. If you set your dns within windows to your deflt gateway that isn't 100% fool proof...use the actual dns servers #'s instead.

Good Morning,

We talked extensively with our ISP and the want to know the following

•  After Sierra charts software authenticates with infinity, they need to know the IP number to which it connects
•  They need to know if in order to manage the application, it resides on a server
Thanks

Jose

It is the IP address that www.SierraChart.com points to.

The answer to the second question is No as we understand it.
