Account Balance Text Study

Hello.

I trade with Interactive Brokers, and I made a Spreadsheet Study that uses Account Balance Study for its calculations.

The problem is that Account Balance Study for Interactive Brokers doesn't use the real account balance data (what I need). It uses the "Cash" parameter, which is different. And when, for example, I open a new leveraged possition, it results on a negative balance. Then the Account Balance Study turns on negative, and my spreadsheet study ceases to be useful.

I know my english is bad but I hope you understand.

Thank you.

I've been reading about this problem and I understand now the limitations of the Account Balance studies. Hence my question above is resolved.

But after this, arises a new related question. If there is a function to display the amount of open trades (of a symbol or the global of the account) in the spreadsheet, I could program a solution to my problem.

Does this function exists?

Thank you

We need to understand exactly what you are looking for. Do you mean the cash required to maintain all of the Trade Positions in the account?

No, sorry about my explanation. I want the value of the position (in the currency of the position). F.ex: If I have a opened position of 2 XAUUSD, and last price of XAUUSD is 1200$, 2x1200 = 2400$.
I'm looking for a function that displays 2400 (or the symbol of opened positions + quantity of opened positions, it would also be helpful).

Thank you very much.

You can calculate this yourself just by using the Position Average price or the last trade price and multiplying by the Position Quantity. All the data is available on the spreadsheet already.

Unless you want to do this for all symbols which would not be possible in a spreadsheet.

Hi again! I'm hardly trying to know how to obtain the Position Average price you mentioned, but I can't.. How can I obtain this value for using it on my spreadsheet?

Thanks

Are you using the Spreadsheet System for Trading study?

You need to use the study named "Spreadsheet System for Trading" study. You will see the Position Average Price in the J column.

Yes, but with my package I can't use the Spreadsheet System for trading. Is there any possibility to obtain the "position average price" (or a input of trades) in a cell of the Spreadsheet Study?

No, there is not a way to do this other than to use that study. We can apply a discount to your account for the next few months and you can change your service package to 3.
