How To Turn Off Message Log Window For Data Updates

During the trading day, the Message Log window pops up multiple time as data as historical data is downloaded. It's incredibly annoying and not something I need to be notified of.

How can I turn this off and limit the window pop ups to disconnects?

This should not normally be the case. Provide one of the lines that is causing the Message Log to open. It will have a * at the end of it.

I don't see any with an asterisk at the end. These are happening with Historical Data requests for Market Stats symbols only. Namely the following:

ADR-NYSE
NISS-SP
NTCK-SP
NVOL-NYSE
TICK-NYSE

All of text blocks contain basically the same information and look like this:

(please note the bolded text - it is present in every text block).

Therefore, it is not these lines which are causing the log window to open. It is something else.

Those are the only types of entries I see when the Log Window opens.

Same happens every time I launch SC. The Log Window opens and shows me every single operation it's performing with relation to data download. There are no asterisks at all at the end of any text line.

Is there a way to completely disable this window and prevent it from popping up?

All we can say is if the line does not have an asterisk at the end, it definitely is not going to open that window. If it is, we would have absolutely no idea why and we have not heard of this before.

Before you exit from Sierra Chart close the Message Log and it should not appear when you open Sierra Chart.

Definitely does. Always has. I thought that was normal.

It happens every time I launch SC and pops up intermittently all day long.

Every time I launch, this is the first block of text:

It then goes and lists every operation it's performing, Historical Data Requests, New Symbol Settings for TT, Rollover date info, TT Fix connections, the whole nine yards.

What would trigger this to show? Is there a checkbox that might be enabled somewhere?

This window just popped up and has this line:

SC Market Stats | There has been no activity on the network socket. Will reconnect. | 2015-05-05 06:19:38 *

This has been an issue since day one. What I do is drag a corner of the Message Log to size it very small, then park it out of the way. Then if you want to see what is in the log, drag the corner to size it large.

There needs to be a control to disable the message window completely or restrict it to critical messages only imo.

I have a similar problem, but the log message comes up every time my computer comes out of sleep mode. When I minimize the log window and save it, the next time I come out of sleep mode it maximizes. I also would like more control over the log message window. It is annoying to have to close the message log windows on multiple SC instances every time my computer comes out of sleep mode.

In regards to posts 11,12, we have made the specified messages not open the Message Log.

We apologize for the delay with the response.
