Hello,

I've come across a problem with Numbers Bars.

As you can see in the attached screenshot, I have two charts.

Chart 1, tick size: 0.0002
Chart 2, tick size: 0.0001

in Chart 1; Numbers Bars are sometimes printing 0.0001 tick and 0.0003 tick totals instead of 0.0002. Is this a known issue?

We need you to give us a Chartbook that contains these two charts.

Here are instructions to attach it:

And let us know the Time Zone you have Sierra Chart set to.

But what is the global time zone set to? This we need to know and is critical.

Sorry I'm quite new with SC.

If you're asking the Time Zone setting in "Data/Trade Service Settings", it's set to London (+0 GMT/+1 BST).

We are not willing to spend more time on this. It is nonstandard to be using a different tick size which differs from the underlying data. And we can go through the time to debug this but we do not think we would find anything wrong and the outcome is likely to be mathematically correct.

Doing what you are is affecting the normal behavior of these calculations.

I'm sorry but I simply increased the tick size to have a better view of the Numbers Bars and it's printing incorrectly.

I'm not doing anything complicated or off the system, just using the system functions.

If you don't have time for this I'll understand but you are not even accepting that there is a bug here, very odd.

It is not a bug. We have given this more thought and we understand exactly why it occurs. It has to do with floating-point error and it is difficult to deal with in this particular case. For example the number 1.5001 might actually internally be 1.5000999999 and this affects the value it is rounded to.

We will continue to think about how to resolve it, because if we try to solve it we could introduce other side effects and this is something we are extremely hesitant to do.
