Hi SC, it seems sc is inconsistent with the data from IB. IB shows in its chart a high in the 9:43-9:44 one minute period of 49.49, but sc shows 49.48. I have noticed a couple of times now and because my stops are set according to the extremes, then I need to have accurate recording. Can you please help me understand?

Refer to this section here:

Also you can use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed instead to solve this problem:
Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed

Assuming our data feed provides the data for the exchange for the symbol you are looking at.

thx SC. I find it awkward though to see price moving, but the chart is only updating every five seconds. Is there a reason why this inconsistency occurs? I will have to rethink my stance and maybe start using your data service again though it does cost 35,00 for one terminal and another 15,00 for data I am already receiving from IB. Is someone working on a solution to the fact I would be paying twice for data services?

Yes there is a reason for the inconsistency, IB provides a substandard data feed.

You can always cancel the market data services through Interactive Brokers when using the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed.

understood. I had thought about if I cancelled the IB data services, but wondered about how my placed trades would be affected by delayed quotes or no access to the traded instrument.

I use this mode (true price) with IB data and it's a heck of a lot easier if you enable "draw bid/ask" in Graphics Settings/Other menu.

It works quite well actually. IB's data feed aggregation really isn't the end of the world. People think it is, but for 99% of them, it's not going to change profitability or lack thereof.

Based upon user feedback from users, we do not think order entry would be affected by no market data access to the traded instrument.

@i960: I tried it, but it was still a different cup of tea. Thx anyway! Yes, the datafeed is ok, but I will probably have to look for a more accurate and true real time data delivery. I bless your trading!

Well you see the price move accurately it just happens via the bid/ask bars rather than a candle which is simply delayed by 5 secs. I presume you're not trading on a 5s timescale. Myself I use volume based charts (which as you know vary time-wise) and it's never affected me negatively as far as being right or wrong honestly. If I was wrong then I was going to be wrong anyway.

I see your point about if you were wrong, then you were going to wrong anyway. As for me, I am running data analysis along with TPOs and volume profile. One tick can push a bar into the next level. I am also keen on seeing the market move real time and its behavior, action or reaction at certain levels. It creates a feeling and considering some markets move quite rapidly within 5 seconds, then it is imperative to be right there in the mix.
