I can not change the tick intervals on my intraday charts. If I am looking at a 5 min. chart and want to change it to a 500 tick chart it will not change, it stays stuck on the 5 min. chart. If I change it to a different time based chart there is no problem. I have tried removing the software from the computer and redownloading it but I have the same problem when I go to change the tick settings. I am running Sierra Charts on Windows 7 through Parallels.

Does it temporarily change to 500 tick and then go back to 5 minutes?

No, it will not change from any time based chart to a tick chart. I can change the time based chart to any desired time possible for example, a 5min. to a 15min. to a 30min. back to a 5min., but if I try to change it to any size tick chart it will not change. When in a time chart (5min or any) and I enter - say a 2000tick chart and press enter the screen flashes and stays on 5min.

Most likely the problem is there is a reference to the chart from another chart. Please refer to this help topic:

No luck, I was not able to change time/tick from the Chart>>Chart Settings, Then I tried duplicating chart and changing to a tick chart but to no avail. I tried deleteing all charts and reloadinging them from finder. In the past I went as far as to delete the software and reload it. I am open for suggestion.

There is no need to delete and reload the software.

Do you have any studies on the Chart?

We see that you are using the "Sierra Chart Historical Data Service". The historical data with that service is in 1 Minute units, so Number of Trades Per Bar (tick bars) are not going to work with it. They will always be based upon minutes.

The chart should be indicating the number of trades/ticks per bar, but the bars do not change.

You mean to tell me that I can't change my chart to a tick chart?

In the case where the historical data is 1 Minute units and you are not using a real-time data feed, then the answer is yes.
