Hi There,

I'm using the Study/Price Overlay Study for the following charts:

1. Source Chart: 5 min candlestick with Color Bar HH/LL study displayed in region 1
2. Destination Chart: 1 min candlestick with Color Bar HH/LL study displayed in region 1

When adding the Study/Price Overlay Study to the destination chart, the source chart is shown in region 2 of the destination chart as per its settings. However, the colors added to the source chart by the Color Bar HH/LL study are lost and the source chart is printed in the destination chart with the regular candlestick colors only. The study Color Bar HH/LL is lost in the overlay.

I have taken the following considerations and settings:

1. The Color Bar HH/LL study is not included in the list of studies that cannot be overlaid from one chart to another with the Study/Price Overlay stud.
2. I have followed all instructions in Using the Study/Price Overlay Study and Study/Price Overlay documentation.
3. I have tried both settings (YES and NO) in Use Colors from Source Study in the destination chart Study/Price Overlay Study inputs.
4. I have also taken into consideration, in respect to the latter, that "There is one condition where setting this Input to No, will still use the colors for a study Subgraph from the source study. This will happen if the source study individually colors the Subgraph elements by using the DataColor array on the Subgraph".

Any idea what I'm missing?

Thanks

We need a Chartbook containing only 2 charts and only the studies mentioned demonstrating the configuration you are referring to.

If there is anything else contained in the Chartbook, we will not look at it.

1. The Color Bar HH/LL study is not included in the list of studies that cannot be overlaid from one chart to another with the Study/Price Overlay stud.

The studies from the selected chart are all displayed in the Study to Overlay input with the Study/Price Overlay Study. We confirmed that.

The mistake is in the destination chart you cannot use Chart Region 2. It has to be Chart Region 1 where the price bars are. The color bar study can only color bars.

Hi There,

I changed the settings of the Study/Price Overlay study in the destination chart to use Chart Region 1. The source chart is "overlayed" on the destination chart in region 1 but bars are still in candlestick colors. The colors from the study Color Bar HH/LL are still missing.

Again, the study Color Bar HH/LL is lost in the overlay.

Thanks

Make sure the Study/Price Overlay study Input Study to Overlay is referencing Color Bar HH/LL study from the source chart. It will be listed. Just make sure you set the Chart sub input within that input first correctly.

Hi There,

Chart with colors from HH/LL study from source chart are now displayed in destination chart in region 1 as per your instructions, but as source chart (5 min) and destination chart (1 min) have different time-frames, only the first minute information of each bar of the source chart is displayed in the destination chart.

How can I have all bar information from the source chart be displayed in the destination chart considering that the HH/LL study can only be overlayed in region 1 of the charts?

Thanks

Set the Fill Blanks with Last Value study input to Yes. Not sure if that is exactly what you are looking for but that is the closest available.
