The Numbers Bars study is an excellent order flow tool but with one glaring omission - volume cluster analysis/controls.

Adding a set of tools for identifying high and low volume areas of each bar would make this an even more powerful study.

This could be as "simple" as:

A) Adding Background option for Volume Clusters
B) Adding specific volume cluster background color options (for example: one for high volume clusters, one for low, high/low volume with buyers or sellers dominating)
C) Add threshold inputs - things like total volume, or percentage of volume (similar to a value area)

I'm sure there's a bit of work that goes into that but I think it would be well worth the effort in terms of user benefits.

Here is a quick mockup of what I'm talking about:

Another nice feature would be "Show Candle" which would show the actual candle shape of the bar. This can be done by creating another chart and using Study/Overlay but it would be nice to have the functionality within the Numbers Bars study.

As would the ability to see zeroes instead of blank spaces when using the Bid/Ask Volume Text Threshold. Right now it just leaves blank spaces where the threshold is not met.

Hopefully you'll consider some of these things.

The best implementation of this in my opinion is Order Flow Analytics which is a set of tools written for Ninja Trader only. http://www.orderflowanalytics.com/english

Here are some short videos explaining what they do:

Cluster Concentration: http://player.vimeo.com/video/107437300/

Classification and Spreads: http://player.vimeo.com/video/107437301/

Show/Hide Levels: http://player.vimeo.com/video/107437302/

Being able to use Diagonal Dominant Side Coloring on text and then be able to independently show a background based on volume clusters - where the background shading is ONLY used on the clusters - makes reading orderflow on a rotational basis very clear and concise.

"Show candle" can be added with the ''Current Price Line'study set to draw style "color bar/color bar hollow". Works well.

One possible solution to the problem might be to add a second column to your Numbers Bars study where the volume analysis can be customized. SC might need to add a couple of thresholds to the "Highlight Minimum/Maximum Color" and perhaps an additional option to the "Open and Close Marker Style", but none of that should be too burdensome. However, you may not be aware that they are EXTREMELY busy these days which is why I went ahead and gave it my best shot! Hope it helps somewhat.

@ PST - for your clustering request you may wish to evaluate the 'Stacked Imbalance' indicator within the Order Flow Suite at www.emojitrading.com
