Horizontal colorbars

I am wanting several horizontal bars in subgraphs below the main price graph. Each such bar should be colored according to some criteria like change of slope of an EMA on the price bars, or MACD above or below zero, etc. Using the study "Color bar based on slope" then Identifying the EMA on the price bars as the "based on" criteria, then using the + or -1 choice, then placing it in Subgraph2 >>> this leads to an empty subgraph2. What is the problem? The study does work when located in the Price Graph. Regards |

If so, what am I missing? Regards |

Try this for the EMA slope: -set the Based On to the EMA -set the Chart Region to 2 -set the Input Data to Avg -set the Use +1/-1 to No -set the Draw Style to Background You'll need another instance of the Color Bar study for each. You may need to use the Color Bar Based On Alert Condition study for some of your conditions, and you'll need a formula on the Alerts tab, and the other setup will be different. But it definitely can be done. |

Tomgilb, Thankyou. I had it right except for your brilliant suggestion of using Background Draw style. (I had tried with and without the +/-1 parameter). I had hoped to jam several such bars closely together. There is a gap between the studies that cannot be almost eliminated even when all study text is eliminated. All in all I am happy with your solution, I have tried this occasionally for a very long time.
