I've never seen this before:

Trying to open an intraday chart for the VIX and can't get the symbol right so I abandoned ship and just tried to load the VXX etn and I get this error:

HD Request # 38 | Requesting 1 Day of data at 30 secs with ending Date-Time at 2014-11-08 12:28:55 for VX-2015-02-CFE | 2015-01-30 12:56:27
HD Request # 38 | Message from IB: Error validating request:-'qd' : cause - Currency CFE is not allowed. IB Error Code: 321. Request ID: 309. | 2015-01-30 12:56:27

I am just entering VXX as the symbol so I'm not sure why it is attempting the -CFE suffix and trying to put it through as USD which is what my currency is set to as default.

For the record if I put in VIX-201502-CFE-USD as the symbol for Feb VIX futes I get this:

HD Request # 38 | Requesting 1 Day of data at 30 secs with ending Date-Time at 2014-11-26 12:28:55 for VX-2015-02-CFE | 2015-01-30 12:59:33
HD Request # 38 | Message from IB: Error validating request:-'qd' : cause - Currency CFE is not allowed. IB Error Code: 321. Request ID: 327. | 2015-01-30 12:59:33

If I drop the CFE and just go -USD I get the same error. Also if I drop all the suffixes and just go VIX-201502 same thing.

This is wrong:
VX-2015-02-CFE

It needs to be:
VX-201502-CFE

At first this gave me an invalid symbol error but now it is downloading the historical data which I have set for 10 days but it is going back to 08/2014 and doing about 1 day per 30 seconds so it will be hours to complete. Any way I can stop this? I don't remember going through this before with intraday but I was using TD data maybe IB is still screwy, I used to use it and remember it was pretty poor.

We can solve this for you by us setting up the correct symbol settings and providing historical data from our own system, but you will need to change your Sierra Chart service package 3.

We can have this done in about two hours. Would you like us to change your service package to 3?

For some insane reason it just started working this second. I didn't do anything differently. If anything changes I will change the package to 3 if I need to. Thank you for your help.

We realize this symbol is already set up and this is the correct symbol which you will find in File >> Find Symbol:
VIX-######-CFE-USD

We have added support to download historical data from our own server if you are on package 3 or 5.
