please revisit this issue for a moment to consider if it is possible to have the study repeat the last values of ZigZag SG4,SG5 and SG6 until a new value is determined for the current swing, instead of printing zero. is this possible? this would solve the major problem with this study. see attached

You can easily do this yourself. In an unused column, use this formula in row 3: =IF(AM3>0,AM3,Z4). Change the Z to the column you have chosen to use. Now copy the formula down the column.

i do not use spreadsheets on my charts (except for troubleshooting) because they are too slow.

SC Engineering, can you correct the ZZ study so that it repeats the latest values for SG3, 4, and 6 as it does already with with SG7 (MidPoint)?

There is no problem here and no changes are planned.

this contradicts SC Support's former position http://www.sierrachart.com/supportboard/showthread.php?t=36050
If you see a need to do a recalculate for a particular study, then there is something wrong with the coding of that study.

ZigZag SG3, SG4 or SG6 require refresh to see the correct value i.e. ZZ fails to repaint the current swing's history for these items. they remain staic until the swing has changed direction. this has been my experience in both referencing ZZ with StudySubgraphRef and in SC spreadsheets.

What you are describing in post #8 is different than the original request.

The issue of these values not updating correctly on a Spreadsheet has been resolved in the latest release.

let's be clear, the issue is with ZigZag and no improvements have been made. these are the issues you are referring to, fixed in v1234 :

>>Low-level improvements to the Study/Price Overlay study to better work with studies that are displaced and studies that recalculate at bars earlier than the last bar in the source chart, like the Zig Zag study.

>>The Study/Price Overlay study and the Spreadsheet studies now properly output data from the study like the Zig Zag study that change at bars earlier than the last bar in the chart.

you can see on the attached spreadsheet that ZigZag itself is what needs fixing. Line Length should have an actual value at all times, not zero (unless there is in fact no price movement since the start of the swing). why Line Length is zero at all of these points is beyond me. please explain how it is correct to say that the length of the swing is zero when in fact price has moved from the start of the swing.

and ditto for Number of Bars. where you see zeroes on the spreadsheet, this is incorrect because the number of bars from the beginning of the swing is not being reported.

again, i am asking to please fix these issues or explain why not. thank you.
