Hi Support,

I am using Study Subgraphs Add to add together two studies brought over from two other charts (using Study/Price Overlay - with "Fill Blanks With Last Value" set to "Yes" ).

The two other charts are of larger size Renko Chart with wicks.

The brought over studies plotted without issues.

Every time I made changes (formatting, etc.) of the Study Subgraphs Add study and then click "Apply" or "Ok", the older values prior to me clicking "Apply" or "Ok" disappears on the chart!? I do not remember it used to do that but I was not keeping track. There was no error messages to show. When the study in the current chart is added, same situation of "disappearing prior values" on the chart.

If I change the "Draw Zeros" option to Yes, the old values will plot as zeros. If "Draw Zeros" option is set to No, old values disappears.

Am I using the study correctly or is there a way to retain the older values prior to me clicking Apply/Ok? Similar issues with Replay - study will only start plotting the values AFTER replay button was clicked.

If I am using it incorrectly please correct me or can you suggest another study so two or more subgraphs can be added together?

This definitely sounds like a study calculation precedence issue:

The easiest solution is to move the Study Subgraphs Add study underneath the two studies it is based on in the list of Studies to Graph in the Study Settings window.

I understand the precedence issue and Study Subgraphs Add study is already underneath.

The hard part is that when I use an older version of my study sets with the Study Subgraphs Add study, no such issue exist.

Will try to reinstall Sierra Chart now ... any suggestions?

Reinstalling will not help with this at all.

What studies are you adding together?

Here is the source chart group of studies - where I am bringing study from.

Study #2 - is a Study Subgraphs Difference of the two values in Study #1 - Study #1 is the MAMA study in Custom Study. (Earlier last year, I asked for this MAMA to be included as part of your package and not a user contributed study. You included it in the following update. I do not belief the issue is there with the study being a Custom Study still, etc. as it worked without issues on its own.)

Next post I will post where I have the Study Subgraphs Add study.

Here is the target chart group of studies - where I have the Study Subgraphs Add study.

Two pictures shows the complete names of all studies including each studies' number.

The third picture shows the setting of Study ID#22 where Study #6 is added to Study #17.

Will try to reinstall anyway.

It seems to matter as to which study was first in the Study Subgraphs Add study?

We are always afraid when user provides us a large amount of information on a complex set up. We cannot help with this specifically. Therefore, this excess information cannot be looked at. It only has the effect of causing a significantly deferred response or no response at all.

But what we can say is that there is no doubt it has to do with study calculation order which is documented here:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_ChartStudies.html#StudyCalculationPrecedence

We determined when there are multiple study Inputs which reference other studies, that it is the last Input referencing another study which is relied on when determining calculation order.

I belief the issue was resolved by myself when I reorder the sequence of the studies. Thanks for a reply.
