Coinbase will give you a $75 referral fee for every customer who signs up through your application. The other two that would probably be most desirable would be OKCoin and BitMEX because they're the largest Bitcoin Futures' exchanges.

What makes futures' exchange more desirable ?

I'm focusing on exchanges that provide margin trading for obvious reason but I'm wondering about why you think futures' exchanges are more desirable.

Regarding coinbase, it is surely interesting though I fail to see why my application would provide incentive to users to use coinbase rather than something else…

For the leverage. OkCoin's contracts are available in 10x and 20x leverage, BitMEX contracts go up to 25x leverage. I'm not sure how much leverage you can get on Bitfinex with straight margin trading, but I think it's much less than that. (2x or 3x maybe)

I don't personally have access to Coinbase Exchange yet (I live in Louisiana,) but they would certainly be an attractive option if someone is looking for a traditionally government regulated market - with all the oversight New York State 'provides' financial institutions. ItBit is also a New York regulated banking institution. I'm not sure what margin / leverage is available on either one. (1:1 I think, so you can go short.) I personally prefer the risk/opportunity of market regulation, but government regulation does have its fans.

As far as incentive - your users will only open accounts at exchanges the application supports, so . . .

I'm really looking forward to your release - I'll connect SierraChart to it and play around for a bit, but what I need to do now is get a DTC interface built for NeuroShell Trader, which is what I want to use to trade the BTC markets.

Do you have the NeuroShell API ? I don't do Windows programming, but there could be a way to connnect NeuroShell to the bitcoin exchanges (via DTC or not).

I do have the API and some source code examples, but it has to be implemented as 2 DLL's (or exe's) one Datapump and a Tradepump (trade signals.) I've never done any windows programming before and the sheer size/complexity of MS Visual Studio got in my way. I may tackle it again or hire someone on freelancer.com to do it, now that there's a good reason to. --Initially, just building the DTC interface would have paired great with SierraChart's relay server, and I tried to get Ward Systems to do it themselves, but it still wouldn't have connected me to a bitcoin exchange. Now that it will, hopefully I'll get the NeuroShell side working soon.

As an aside, if you'd like, Ward Systems actually has been looking to connect NeuroShell to a bitcoin source (I'm not the only customer who's asked them.) Perhaps if you contacted them and described the state of your project they might get on the ball and build a DTC Data/Tradepump themselves. sales@wardsystems.com

Yeah I guess we can find some synergy here, I'll contact them when I'll have one bitcoin exchange working over DTC.

I'm focusing on exchanges supporting margin trading / futures, and Bitfinex will be the first unless I have problems with it and another one is easier to work with.

One thing we want to point out in this thread is Sierra Chart now has a full DTC server that functions like a normal DTC server supporting multiple connections and market data requests.

This DTC server currently supports market data and trading capability is going to be added over the next two weeks. All DTC messages will be supported.

This is in the latest prerelease 1286.

We will be putting together a documentation page about this.
