Dear SC team,

I don't get any information about open trades from IB any more. I can trade trough SC as usual and send orders through the chart, but as soon as the order gets filled and the position is open, I cannot see that position in my charts any more. Attached chart traded window says "flat" and doesn't give me any profit/loss info, flatten doesn't work... it's like I don't have any opend position, although I just opend that position from the chart a few seconds ago.
This affects just CFDs.

What can I do?

Thanks

What is the symbol of the chart set to?

Do you see the Trade Position Quantity in Trade >> Trade Orders and Positions >> Positions tab.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, I see the position in the "trade orders and positions" window, just like normal.

I've been eperimenting with all kind of chart symbols.
Now I use ABCO-CFD-SMART (in the "symbol" field).

I did try using ABCO in the "symbol" field and one of the following in the "trade and current quote field":
ABCO-CFD-SMART-USD-BAAVG
ABCO-CFD-SMART-USD
ABCO-CFD-SMART
ABCO-CFD

None of those combinations gave me the open position.

I only have this problem with CFD, stocks work as normal. I believe that I only have this problem since the last update - I know everything used to work fine some weeks ago, but I cannot tell if it stopped working before the update or after it. Could that problem be due to the new SC version?

And I have one more problem:
If I set ABCO for symbol and ABCO-CFD-SMART for curent trade and quote symbol, it works fine for intraday charts (H1, M10, M5,...). But when I change to Daily Timeframe, the "current trade and quote symbol" is deleted. When I change back to intraday timeframe (H1) it stays deletet and only the "ABCO" in the symbol field remains. That means that I'd now trade the stock and not the CFD anymore.
How can I prevent the "current quote and trade" fiel from being deleted?

What is the Symbol that you see for the Trade Position on the Trade >> Trade Orders and Positions >> Positions tab?

It should show as [symbol]-CFD

Read the information here to make sure you are not using the Order Fill Calculated Position:

In response to post #4:

Set the chart to this symbol:

ABCO-CFD-SMART-USD

And do not use the Trade and Current Quote Symbol.

What is the Symbol that you see for the Trade Position on the Trade >> Trade Orders and Positions >> Positions tab?

It is ABCON-CFD- ; for all CFD Positions there is an "N" added at the end of the stock symbol, eg ABCON-CFD-, ACTN-CFD- ,...

In response to post #4:
Set the chart to this symbol:
ABCO-CFD-SMART-USD

Works, thanks, but I still get no open position info.

Thanks

So now the problem has been identified:

It is ABCON-CFD- ; for all CFD Positions there is an "N" added at the end of the stock symbol, eg ABCON-CFD-, ACTN-CFD- ,..
Try using the symbol in the chart that Interactive Brokers is sending back for Trade Positions. If that does not work, then why on earth is Interactive Brokers doing this? You need to contact IB about this.

This doesn't work either, "symbol unknown". I'll contact IB for this. Anyway thanks for your help!

I'm having this same problem with IB. Other platforms report the same position correctly but Sierra shows it only for a second after the order is filled and then it disappears. My other copy of Sierra running with OEC broker is working fine.

Are you referring to a position or working order?

If it is in regards to an order, refer to the section here:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/IB.php#OrdersDisappear

The problem is not with Sierra Chart. It is with IB but we need more information about precisely what the problem is in order to explain what the issue is or give you some help with it.

The position, most likely.

I believe he encounters the same problem as I do, because his descriptions resembles 100% of what's happending to me.

I'm having this same problem with IB. Other platforms report the same position correctly but Sierra shows it only for a second after the order is filled and then it disappears

By the way, I contacted IB API team already, but didn't get a response.

In your case, the symbol Interactive Brokers is sending back for the Position does not match the symbol of the corresponding order.
