Package/Pricing Question

Hi,

I've been demo-ing Sierra Chart and I'm considering purchasing a one year license. But the thing I want most to do with it is volume profiling and it's unclear to me which package I would need to do that. The documentation seems contradictory. It's listed with the "Additional Features" that the product matrix page seems to say are included in package 3, but the description for that particular item reads:

"Tools >> Draw Volume Profile tool. This requires Package 5."

I have no interest in any of the other package 5 features so that's obviously a significant price difference if true, and there are a couple of other products I will need to evaluate before deciding in that case. Can you clarify?

could you point at the products w a custom vProfile ( no more as 50$/mo, right?)?

thank you

The two other packages I've been considering are a bit more expensive, but sometimes you get what you pay for. I would have to evaluate those before deciding. I do have some reservations about Sierra Chart but if package 3 includes volume profiling, that would make it kind of a no-brainer. Hopefully someone from SC can clarify that.

I'm familiar w a "LinnSoft's stuff" and you are right if you need more expensive solution (80$+) for your needs

but SC's custom vProfile is more flexible and there is no reason to make it for free, imho :)

Ganz are you a representative of Sierra Chart? And if so, am I to understand that the answer to the question that I asked is that Volume Profiling is not available in package 3?

Thanks.

No, I'm just a user and sent my answer after you edited your post (at the same time).

Sorry about that Ganz. It just occurred to me after I wrote that it perhaps it was a little rude of me to mention competing products by name on the SC support forum. (I'm a software publisher in my day job and I think that would annoy me.)

Check out the "Volume by Price" study, it might be sufficient for you and available in PKG 3.

Package 3 includes the Volume by Price study that you manually add to the chart through the Analysis >> Studies window. This is what you are looking for as we understand.

Package 5 includes a Drawing Tool to allow you to interactively draw a Volume by Price study on the chart with specific starting and ending Date-Times.

Ahhh, OK. Now it makes sense. I guess it was unclear to me that those are two different features. But I believe you're correct that the Volume by Price study does get me 80%+ of my wish list. That's probably the way to go.

Thanks very much, guys.
