Trying to create Spread Charts for CL contract, all charts single line using 'Line on Close' as input value.

Chart 1 - Jan 2015
Charts 2-5 - March to June contracts
Overlaying Chart 1 on other charts using 'Overlay (Single Line)'.

On Chart 1 the latest value is >75.00, on the overlays Chart 1 plots <75, so overlay is showing a different value from source.

Also tried adding Difference - Single Line, set Use Left Scale and Right Scale set to independent, values bear no relation to what the 2 lines are showing, probably because the overlaid line is inaccurate to begin with.

What am I doing wrong here?

Thanks Corben, but I'm trying to create Daily Spread Charts and I believe the method described is for intraday charts.

Sorry, I should have made that clear.

Use the Difference study for this:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/doc_TechnicalStudiesReference.html#s3

This is all you need to do. You do not need to do any overlays of other chart graphs on a chart.

Select "Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings". What is the "Service" at the top left set to?

Also we show you have logged into this Support Board using an account which does not match the account you use the Sierra Chart.

Actually we can tell you are using the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service.

Will be looking this over but most likely what you are looking at from E-Signal is an exchange traded spread contract. We do have the ability to provide that data but requires some set up.

Also trying to recreate the Arps Universal Swing tool available free in esignal - what settings can i use on the Zig Zag indicator?
Not sure how we can help with this because we do not know about the "Arps Universal Swing" study.

We apologize for the delay with responding. This is something we wanted to do a comprehensive review of . Therefore, it takes longer before we can get to it.

This is the result what we get for Difference (Bar):

Similar to yours, but different.

In the case of Difference (Single Line), there was a problem with the last trade price box where it was not matching the study Subgraph and we have fixed that :

In the case of the E-Signal chart, the values do not match up. One explanation is the difference in the decimal point position but still disregarding the decimal point, the values are different and we are not sure why.

If you want to use Sierra Chart we recommend using exchange traded spread contracts. For this you need to use IQ Feed:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/DTNIQFeed.html

In January, we will look to setting up our systems for exchange traded spreads. We set this up already for the COMEX and we are maintaining Intraday data now. Did you require historical Daily charts for spreads or would Intraday charts be satisfactory? Do you need them to update in real time?

We just realized what the problem is. One of these contracts is expired, and there is not proper matching between the Dates.

We are implementing a solution to this now.

Actually, we have looked at this some more, and we realize that although one contract expires earlier, it does not affect the calculations and the matching of Dates is correct.

Here is the Chartbook we created to test this. It is attached.

Save it to your Sierra Chart Data Files Folder which can be determined from Global Settings >> General Settings >> Data Files Folder.

These charts are using the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service symbols.

The Chartbook can be opened through File >> Open Chartbook.

To ensure there is complete data in the charts, go to each one and select Edit >> Delete All Data and Download.
