We will have a more detailed response by Monday morning. But at this point CQG has increased the allowed order rate for your account. This was the underlying problem.

In the case of Rithmic, the reason the order modification was rejected was because it was attempted at the same time that the order filled but before the notice of the fill.

This has been confirmed to be the result of an order modification which was done at the same time the order filled and the modification could not be carried out by the Rithmic system:

Rithmic Trading | Failure with order with Service Order ID: 14871048. The order management system rejected request | 2014-11-20 08:51:50 *
There was an error with the order modification: Rithmic Trading order report (Order cancel/replace reject). Info: The order management system rejected request. Service order ID: 14871048 | 2014-11-20 08:51:50 *

Having several order management issues, costing me monetary losses. Some seem related to CQG, some SC, this is an overwhelming nightmare as a trader, have been in contact with broker, FCM, CQG, and now back to your support. Trying to tackle issues few at a time.

1. SC or the trade service seems to cancel bracket orders to close a position on rejection of an order, even if it is partially allowed/filled. This was both on v1205 and v1213. Were you able to see this in the log posted previously and identify the issue?

2. Why are order modifications being sent, and the correct stop quantity not initially sent with the entry order? I am not modifying these orders just submitting limits with attached orders for entry, as in the Rithmic order that was rejected.

3. If TPS limit was an underlying problem, and doubling it is the solution, what happens if I double my number of contracts, or execute trades simultaneously on multiple instruments?

1.
There was an error with the order modification: Order Modification Reject. Text: Order Action rate exceeded. Order Modification failed. Please call CQG. Service order ID: 485352561 | 2014-11-19 04:51:41 *

While looking into this issue, we noticed a problem with the order fill execution IDs between FIX and the CQG Web API causing duplicate fills to be added. We have already resolved this in the latest version. The What is New page will document this in more detail.

When an order modification triggered this condition on the CQG system:
Order Modification Reject. Text: Order Action rate exceeded. Order Modification failed. Please call CQG

It led to two problems. The order did not get set to the quantity it should have been and because of that later this occurred:

Order  2014-11-19 05:00:30.000  F.US.BP6Z14  Canceling due to sibling no longer working  5295  485303376  Stop

This occurs, because once Sierra Chart detects that the sibling Attached Order has filled and is no longer working, then the other side in the OCO group should not be working either because the associated position should now be offset. This was not the case due to the failed order modification though.

This is a fault on the CQG system. We will be adding this kind of scenario to the documentation. We may also add an option to control this behavior as well, however the real root of the problem is the underlying trading server.

2. The quantity is definitely correct. In the case of Attached Orders, the initial sending of the orders will be to the quantity of the parent order fill and then they will be increased as the parent order continues to fill. All of this works reliably but if CQG is rejecting the orders, the final quantity will not be correct.

3. You are correct about this and this is a problem. And for this reason, this is a real problem when using CQG. This kind of problem lurking in the background has the potential to cause issues.

Our advice at this point, is to avoid CQG. Based upon your experience and based upon what we heard from CQG, we have to rate CQG in your case, as an incompatible trading service to use.

Being they are imposing limits on the number of orders entered within a certain amount of time, it can only be considered as an incompatible service when someone starts trading multiple lots and using multiple target/stop orders. We have to solve this matter, it is taking a significant amount of our time, it is causing you losses. So our advice is to not use CQG.

This thread is now closed. Any further issues you will need to start a new thread.
