PROBLEM After updating to Sierra Chart 2961, I repeatedly get these messages about every 5 seconds: c_CachedIntradayFile::OpenForAddingRecords - C:\Program Files (x86)\SierraChart\Data\ESZ26-CME.scid. File is already open. Intraday file is not open when flushing cache. C:\Program Files (x86)\SierraChart\Data\ESZ26-CME.scid Initially, this occurred across multiple symbols and multiple chartbooks, including my ES, 6E and Gold chartbooks. The affected .scid files included ES, 6A, 6B, 6E, GC and BTC. SYSTEM OS: Fedora Linux Sierra Chart: 2961 64-bit Running under Wine via Bottles Data Service: SC Data Real-time feed: Denali Chart Update Interval: 200 ms Maximum Historical Intraday Days: 30 Intraday Data Storage Time Unit: 0 (1 Tick) WHAT I HAVE TRIED 1. Recompiled all custom studies after updating Sierra Chart. 2. Removed stale Wine/Bottles processes from previous Sierra Chart sessions. Also tried rebooting. 3. Tested my existing chartbooks. The error occurred when opening my existing chartbooks, and was not limited to ES.Cht. It also occurred with other chartbooks such as my 6E and Gold chartbooks. 4. Removed the startup chartbooks and tested from scratch. I created a completely new blank chartbook. With no charts open, there was no error. 5. Added a single new ESZ26-CME 5-minute chart to the blank chartbook. The error returned after the historical data update completed. Therefore, the problem can be reproduced both: - when opening my existing chartbooks containing multiple charts/studies - from a completely new blank chartbook containing only one ESZ26-CME chart 6. Backed up the original ESZ26-CME.scid and allowed Sierra Chart to rebuild it completely from historical data. The historical download completed successfully, but the same error returned immediately afterward. 7. Closed Sierra Chart completely and checked with lsof/fuser. No Sierra Chart, Wine, or other Linux process was holding ESZ26-CME.scid. 8. Started Sierra Chart with no chartbook open, then opened a blank chartbook without adding a chart. No error occurred. LATEST TEST After adding only ESZ26-CME 5-minute to the new blank chartbook: 2026-10-02 16:32:05 | #1 ESZ26-CME 5 Min | Chart data loading complete. 2026-10-02 16:32:13 | Intraday data download complete for ESZ26-CME. 2026-10-02 16:32:13 | Real-time Intraday chart data file updates started for ESZ26-CME 2026-10-02 16:32:13 | Intraday chart data file opened for ESZ26-CME 2026-10-02 16:32:15 | c_CachedIntradayFile::OpenForAddingRecords - ...\ESZ26-CME.scid. File is already open. 2026-10-02 16:32:15 | Intraday file is not open when flushing cache. ...\ESZ26-CME.scid 2026-10-02 16:32:20 | c_CachedIntradayFile::OpenForAddingRecords - ...\ESZ26-CME.scid. File is already open. The error then repeats every 5 seconds. QUESTION What could cause Sierra Chart to report that the .scid file is already open when: - there is only one Sierra Chart instance - no other Linux/Wine process has the file open - the .scid file has been completely rebuilt - the problem occurs with my existing chartbooks - it occurs across multiple existing chartbooks/symbols - it can also be reproduced from a completely new blank chartbook with only one ESZ26-CME chart? Could this be related to Sierra Chart 2961, Wine/Bottles, or the 1 Tick Intraday Data Storage Time Unit? |
