DTC Protocol Server — semantics of the LOGON_REQUEST TradeMode field

I connect a local client to Sierra Chart's DTC Protocol Server (port 11099, JSON encoding, Allow Trading enabled). The upstream service is Rithmic Direct - DTC. The DTC Protocol Server documentation lists TradeMode among the fields used from the LOGON_REQUEST. However, the LOGON_REQUEST field table in the DTC message documentation does not describe TradeMode. I cannot determine its behaviour from the documentation. What does Sierra Chart's DTC Protocol Server do with the TradeMode value in LOGON_REQUEST? If Trade Simulation Mode is ON and a client logs on with TradeMode = 1, what happens to an order that client submits — simulated, sent to the service, or rejected? If Trade Simulation Mode is OFF and a client logs on with TradeMode = 2, is the order simulated, sent to the service, or rejected? Is routing determined solely by Trade Simulation Mode and the selected Trade Account, with TradeMode being informational? Does the server ever reject a logon or report an error on a TradeMode mismatch against the platform's simulation state? I need certainty that a client's declared TradeMode cannot cause an order to reach the live service when the client believes it is simulated. |
