Hello, Right now it's taking ~35 minutes (7 symbols per second) everyday to download up-to-date historical daily data across all 12,000 US stocks via Edit > Download Data for Associated Watchlist Symbols. Even though the documentation states that, "The data downloaded will be from the last date in the Historical Daily chart data file, to the present," the time remains the same regardless if it's a completely fresh download for the entire history, or if I just need a single update for the last daily bar. ACSIL currently has sc.StartDownloadHistoricalData() which increments Historical Daily data from the last existing bar when called with StartingDateTime = 0, although this function only operates on sc.Symbol (the symbol of the chart containing the study). Perhaps if there was something like sc.StartDownloadHistoricalDataForSymbols(SymbolList, 0.0) for a bulk list that updates Historical .dly files with StartingDateTime = 0, meaning increment from last existing record, then daily updates could become very fast and handle any missed time consistently with the same single call. Thanks |

Are you specifically using ACSIL to force a data download, or is this the amount of time it takes for Sierra Chart to get the data? Are you doing anything unusual, such as removing files from your 'Data' folder each night or something of this ilk? Is the chart associated with the "Associated Watch List" setup for Historical Daily Data and not Intraday data? Also, we did a test to verify that the option for "Edit >> Download Data for Associated Watch List Symbols" does download from the last date in the file and this worked properly, as long as that option is selected in the pop-up that comes up when you select the option. No I'm not using ACSIL to force a data download; I'm using Edit >> Download Data for Associated Watch List Symbols No, I'm not removing files from Data folder each night. Yes the Associated Watchlist setup is setup for Historical Daily Data, and not Intraday Data. Yes, I am selecting option for "From Last Date in Chart Files". Did you happen to verify the time it takes to download it? If you add all NYSE, NYSE Market, NASAQ, and BATS symbols into the Associated Watchlist, are you getting faster download speeds than 7 symbols per second? I'm able to see from the top status bar on Sierra Chart. |
