Hi Sierra Chart Team, I am new to SC. I was trying to plot the evening/overnight volume profile and extend/mark the levels (VAH/VAL/POC) in my main chart automatically.

I tried to use "Volume By Price" study to plot the profile and the levels but the levels weren't shown even after I set the draw styles in "Volume Area High Value" to "Line at Last Bar to Edge".

FYI: I have followed the exact settings from the guide "One Volume Profile at End for Evening Session" on Volume By Price Study: One Volume Profile at End for Evening Session

To address this, I set up another chart with only evening sessions and used the "Volume Value Area Lines" to plot the levels and use "Study/Price Overlay" to add the levels to my main chart. (The final view is attached.)

My question is: are there any other easier ways to do the same? I feel like opening a new chart just for this is dragging down my Sierra Chart performance.

I am looking forward to your reply. Thank you.

How you do this depends on what exactly you want to see and how you want it.

One option is to use the "Volumey by Price" study with the following inputs:
- Volume Graph Period Type: Multiple Profiles Based on Fixed Time
- Time Period Type for 'Fixed Time': Days
- Time Period Length for 'Fixed Time': 1
- Use Separate Profile for Evenving Session: Yes
- Extend Value Area: End of Window - All Profiles

The above will give you the Value Area lines from all profiles on the current day, including the overnight.

If you want to have the lines from the most recent overnight session showing on the day session, then you would need to use the "Volume Value Area Lines" study along with the Spreadsheet Study to get the lines displayed as you want them. This gets a bit complex and is beyond our support to put it all together. The idea is to use the Bar Time to get the bar you want and then get the value from the Value Area Lines study and then have that fill into a column to display across the bars you want. You will then hide the Volume Value Area Lines study and use the Spreadsheet Study to display the lines you want.
