How to Disable My Charts from Automatically Resizing?

As a part of my daily prep I have to resize my charts by hand to look at some details. I have a lot of history on these charts as they form my big picture strategy. I cannot get around that. The problem i am having is that as I zoom in by grabbing the price scale on the right hand side, the chart will sometimes read a double click and then i have spend about 3 to 5 minutes resizing my charts again. And when this happens 5 to 10 times every morning it kills my ability to get my work in before the market opens. I cannot find a work around that helps. I have upgraded my wifi, adjusted my mouse settings, I purchased a new mouse, etc. And this is costing me hours per week. Is there a way for me to disable the auto resize feature caused by a misread double click? If not, can you please offer this feature? Thanks! |

Here is what we think you are trying to tell us - You are trying to resize a chart by moving your pointer to the right edge of the chart window, but sometimes you do not quite get it right, and instead you end up double clicking in the Price scale which then resets the scaling you had. If we have this correct, then here are our comments: There is no way to turn off the double-click to reset the scales. There is space either at the top or bottom (or both) of your charts where you can grab to resize where you are not on the price scale. We would recommend trying to use those areas and avoid the price scale area to resize. No, I am not accidentally double clicking and I cannot figure out why the charts are reading a double click. I have exhausted all options on my side to try and fix the issue, which I understand is my issue, but nonetheless I cannot get my work done with this issue. I don't understand this: "There is space either at the top or bottom (or both) of your charts where you can grab to resize where you are not on the price scale. We would recommend trying to use those areas and avoid the price scale area to resize." Is there a way to zoom in and out on the price scale without risking the double click issue when I touch the price scale? |

We are not understanding your situation then. Please explain to us exactly what you are doing. Note that in particular, we do not know what you mean by "zoom in/out".

Ok. I am moving my mouse to the price scale, then i am clicking my mouse and holding the button to move the price scale up and down and sometimes holding the control key, to zoom in or out on the price scale to look at finer details. While I am doing this, the charts will read a double click and resize the chart. I am working with very big picture charts with quite a bit of data and when it resizes like this it takes me a lot of time to get back to where i was because of the data recalculations i suppose, though the server's CPU usage and the memory seem more than adequate (I have monitored this when its having issues). I turned the display setting "chart update interval in milliseconds" from default to 10000 and that seemed to help some. The charts i am working on actually do not need to continue calculating the studies at all once I load the data I need, but I don't see how to disable this either and I am not sure that is the issue anyway. The best and easiest solution for me would be to disable the double click feature on the chart i am working on or for my mouse in general. I have slowed the mouse double click speed down as much as the setting will allow me, but it still continues to happen. So, I am desperate for a solution. This is costing me at least 5 or more hours per week. I am trying to get some work done today and The task I am currently working on has taken 45 minutes when it should have been about 15 minutes at most. |

Ok, we understand the general situation now, and like we stated previously, there is no option to turn off the double click option to reset the price scale. Make sure you are changing the double-click rate in the correct direction. It can be anti-obvious which way to go. You need to speed up the rate at which you click so that the system does not see two clicks that are farther apart as being a double-click. Just make sure you pay attention to this with how you change that setting. We hope you have it the opposite way and changing it will help alleviate this. We also recommend trying a different/new pointing device. I personally just had a problem with my mouse where the left-click would not hold, even though I had the button down, and there was never the second click sound from the device. I had to get a new one to fix the issue. We wonder if your pointer is creating a double click when it should not. We are not certain why you are mentioning the studies and the chart update interval. That has nothing to do with adjusting the scaling, unless you have a LOT of heavy calculations, which will slow down your software at all times. Yeah, I have already replaced my mouse and the setting are adjusted correctly. I don't know what to do. I have been a customer for over 12 years continuously and have not asked for much support or help. If you can find it in your heart to offer a setting to disable the auto resize for a chart that would solve all of my issues. This is a really frustrating problem. Anyway thanks for the prompt response.
