Dear Support Just going through Sierra and wondering if I'm getting corrupt charts when using chart copy to chartbook? I'm unable to delete drawings on the current chart and copied chart, using either EAL or MCD Delete All. In addition, MCD does not show any drawings. The image attached also confirms there is no chart linking so these are not from another chart. I can select the drawing individually and delete them however, I thought I should ask for your thoughts on this. I'm wondering if it is the result of the chart copy where all studies are replicated but annotations are dealt with differently and this is an expected outcome.
Many thanks. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2026-07-27 06:56:35

We figured out that "MCD" means "Manage Chart Drawings", but we have no idea what "EAL" stands for. Drawings are not copied between charts using the Linking options. Refer to the following for how drawings are copied between charts: Chart Settings: Copy Chart Drawings from Chart #'s (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Chart Drawings menu) Therefore, if the "Manage Chart Drawings" window does not show the drawings, but there are drawings on the chart, then these are coming from another chart. Hi John, "EAL" is I believe Sierra's abbreviation for "Erase All Lines (non-text drawings)." As per image there is no chart linking so they are not residing on another linked chart, however, as mentioned this chart is a "Duplicate" so I'm thinking that when we "Duplicate to Chartbook" drawings are copied on the chart but are inaccessible via "MCD" and so a little difficult to delete if there are many - as this requires each is selected individually. I was thinking this was normal but it may be I am having corruption issues with my installation. Many thanks. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2026-07-27 17:15:24

As we stated - linking is NOT how drawings are copied between charts. You definitely have drawings being copied between charts. Refer to the following: Chart Settings: Copy Chart Drawings from Chart #'s (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Chart Drawings menu) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

No, nothing copied between charts. The field you are referring to is empty. I've deleted those 2 charts where no drawings were shown on the MCD "Manage Chart Drawings" pop-up and once again copied to chartbook and copied chart. No changes to anything but this time the drawings are all visible using both methods. Just a hiccup in the first chart I duplicated. No idea what. Many thanks.
