Dear Support

I'm trying to get back into Sierra but wanted to try a get a few things sorted out before renewing data and SC in a few days.

One stumbling point for me is my failure to get the Volume by Price study working as expected.

I have my Chart start and end times as 00:00:00 - 23:59:59 and 2 profiles load.
"
I'm trying to display 2 side-by-side studies, todays evolving profile and yesterdays "number of periods back to reference (1)".

I've read - along with the associated paragraphs:

But cannot seem to identify the solution that will provide 2 side-by-side profiles, one showing todays current evolving Session from "Session Start Time along with the prior completed session profile?

Any help appreciated.

The first thing to keep in mind is that the Input for "Number of Periods Back to Reference" only works with "Volume Graph Period Types" of "Multiple Profiles Based on Fixed Time" or "Multiple Profiles Based on Bar Count". Refer to the information here:
Volume By Price Study: Number Of Periods Back To Reference

Therefore, to get just the one profile on the right for the previous period, you would have to use a "Volume Graph Period Type" of "From Start Date-Time To End Date-Time" and then you would have to update this each day to show the actual previous day. Refer to the following:
Volume By Price Study: From Start Date-Time To End Date-Time

Hi John,

So, simply no way to reference on an ongoing basis (without daily manual inputs) the previous days volume profile along with the current session, presented as Side-by-Side "Volume by Price" study profiles?

Many thanks.

Not for a single profile. You can have multiple profiles and have the most recent profile showing on the right side and set the "Number of Periods Back to Reference" to "1". But you will then have the other profiles showing in the rest of your chart. If you do not mind this, then this would be the easiest way to do it.

Hi John,

Unfortunately that doesn't work for as when I expand and contract charts the prior profiles expand and contract and despite all the various width settings it becomes a little messy to say the least. Just my process. I expect I'm one of the few having an issue due to the way I use the charts.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Many thanks.
