Hi, I upgraded to v2922 over the weekend. On opening my charts today I notice that the Volume by Price study is changing the (input 31) Time Period to Days, regardless of what you choose.

I have since reversed back to v2908, and the issue doesn't occur. Please review and fix.

I am using VbP StartTime to EndTime.

Many thanks, Ian

This was a change to that item due to a bug that existing. When using a "Volume Graph Period Type" of "One Period from Start Time to End Time", if the Input for "Time Period Type for 'Fixed Time'" was not set to "Days", then it was not properly calculating the profile over the period requested.

Therefore, you should update to the latest release in order to ensure that you are getting the proper calculations.

Hi John

Have just installed the latest version (2922) and the problem remains. My key settings:

Input 30: VP, POC, VAH, VAL, VWAP lines
Input 33: Multiple Profiles from Start Time to End Time
Input 34: SHOULD BE WEEKS
Input 35: 1 (ie, 1 week profiles)

Maybe I misunderstood your answer? Please advise, thanks

With the settings that you were using, the Volume Profiles were not being drawn at times that were consistent. As such, this was changed to only allow an entry of "Days" for the "Time Period Type for 'Fixed Time'" when the "Volume Graph Period Type" is set to "Multiple Profiles from Start Time to End Time" in order for the study to work properly.

OK, that's clearer - thank you.

Is there a timescale to fix the study?

thanks

There is nothing further that we need to "fix". We fixed an issue for the particular situation we have mentioned by forcing the "Time Period Type for 'Fixed Time'" to be "Daily".

What exactly are you wanting? What is the setup you are trying to accomplish?

I was using the study to build a weekly volume profile, weekly VAH/VAL, weekly POC, weekly High/Low as shown in the attached screen print (previous version). These ran from Sunday open to Friday close.

Screen shot attached. Nothing revolutionary!

From what you are stating, this would not give you the full weeks profile. It would only give you a part of the week, and this is where there was a problem, as you would only get some of the information between the entered times.

If you want the full week's data in the profile, then you would need to set the following:
- Volume Graph Period Type: Multiple Profiles Based on Fixed Time
- Time Period Type for 'Fixed Time': Weeks
- Time Period Length for 'Fixed Time': 1
