Why aren't my charts staying minimized in my chartbooks when I save, close and reopen the chartbook I have to minimize them again. Thank you.

What is "Global Settings >> General Settings >> GUI >> MDI Child Window Minimize Method" set to?

Is this in reference to detached windows or windows that are part of the main Sierra Chart application (attached windows)?

Hi John, Yes I am running the latest version of Sierra Chart. I have a chartbook with many charts that are referenced by several studies. I minimize all the charts that are referenced that I don't need for trading. I only use about 4 charts for trading. When I save the chartbook after minimizing the charts I'm not using and close and reopen the chartbook, the charts that were minimized are open infront of the charts I use to trade and I have to minimize them again. How do I prevent this? I'm also not receiving email notification that you responded to my Support Board message. Thank you.

If the minimized charts are opening still minimized, then what you are seeing is normal, as the order of the charts in which they will show up when you start Sierra Chart depends on the order of the charts as defined in "Window >> Windows and Chartbooks". You would want to set this up so that the windows that are minimized are at the bottom (the chart at the top will be opened last, so it will be the furthest "on top".

Support, I don't find this to be the case. I find that Sierra reads the list from top to bottom. So the charts at the bottom of the list are displayed on top of charts higher in the list. This Window >> Windows and Chartbooks is, according to Sierra documents the Z order for displaying charts. I just tested this again and if I put minimized charts at the bottom of the list, they always display minimized but sitting on top of non-minimized charts.

So, if you want your minimized charts hidden behind your more important charts, then put the minimized charts at the top of the list not the bottom. At least this is how SC works for me.

FYI, my MDI Child Window is set to, Minimize to Bottom
