SC2915 with sub-instance In sub-instance: Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Main Settings there is a field 'Use Market Data Direct From Primary Server' What exactly does this setting do? And what is this "Primary Server"? I could not find any description of this setting in the documentation. |

This setting does not in any way apply to a sub instance started with File >> New Instance. Only when using the DTC Sub instance service in an independent installation of Sierra Chart. And it means, that the market data would come direct from remote servers instead of the IP address specified in the Service Settings. So, when not in a sub-instance and using 'DTC Service" as the 'Current Selected Service" then if 'Use Market Data Direct From Primary Server' = No then market data is coming from the server specified in 'Server Address/Port'. if 'Use Market Data Direct From Primary Server' = Yes then market data is coming from SierraChart servers and only trading is routed via DTC. Do I understand this correctly? |

That setting only applies for this service: Data/Trade Service Settings >> Main Settings >> Service >> Current Selected Service : "DTC - Sub Instance [trading]" Yes this is correct, but trading is going to be routed through the server specified with the Server Address and Server Port settings for that service: if 'Use Market Data Direct From Primary Server' = Yes then market data is coming from SierraChart servers and only trading is routed via DTC. Although this also depends upon the particular symbol. It would have to be a symbol where market data is provided by Sierra Chart.
