Sierra Chart doesn''t connect at my new work place

Hi,

I started work at a new place and Sierra Chart sits there with a yellowed line saying "Connecting...".

If you have any ideas to help me with that.

We do not know why. Could be due to a firewall or something else.

My broker is:

DORMAN TRADING

If this can help, when I am at work it doesn't work when I connect to their network but I if I connect to my iPhone hotspot it works well (but it's a real pain to have to juggle with connecting to their network and my iPhone and the fact that I'm on 3G all the time - it doesn't look like I can have hotspot through their Wifi)

After trying to connect to Rithmic we need you to send us the Rithmic log file. This will be in C:\SierraChart\Rim. Send it to support _AT_ SierraChart.com.

We will then forward the file to Rithmic to comment on this.

Based on the answer from Rithmic, this appears to be caused by a firewall on your computer network.

We cannot provide further help because we do not control the connection to Rithmic.

It is not Sierra Chart which connects to Rithmic.

If that were the case, we would not even have to be contacting Rithmic about this to analyze a log file and you would never even get this cryptic error message:
"OS Error".

It is the Rithmic software which connects to the Rithmic system.

Hello,

Just wondering whether you ever managed to solve the problem as I have had the exact same experience today.

Moved to a new office and SC goes down with the similar connection issue. From reading documentation, it appears likely to be a firewall issue but still don't know how to resolve.

Any suggestions very welcome!

No. While Rithmic is supported, the decision has been made to cease all development with Rithmic.

We are working on a new service as an alternative for our Rithmic users that they can move to over time in the next 12 to 18 months.

We will have more information out about this, hopefully by the end of the week.
