How do I Delete Chart Drawing Tool Configurations?

Hello, Is there an easy way to delete saved chart drawing tool configurations (presets)? I use several chart drawing tools and would like to quickly delete my saved configurations. However, unlike other windows in Sierra Chart, there is no "Reset to Default" or "Remove" button here. So how do I do this? Thank you. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2026-06-05 07:40:17

There is no reset for drawing configurations.

OK. In that case, could you please come up with a solution that would allow us to delete (or reset to default) individual configurations? Thank you.

We are curious as to why you would need/want this. From our perspective, if you are no longer using that configuration, then it does not matter how it is setup. And if you are using that configuration, then you would need to change it to whatever you want it to be, so setting it to a default does not matter. You're right, John. This can be solved by saving a new configuration (overwriting the old one). There is only one case where this makes sense. If I create a new configuration via Chart Drawing Properties, I have no control over the Copy Tool Config Name To Text setting, since it is located in Tool Config. This means that if the previous configuration had this setting set to Yes, it requires me to additionally go to the Tool Config window and turn it off. If there were a Reset To Default button, I could avoid this step. But I understand that it’s not worth your while to implement a Reset To Default feature just to eliminate one extra step. |
