Hello, Would it be possible to add an automatic position sizing calculation feature to the Trade Window? Some other trading platforms, such as TradingView, offer this as a standard feature (see screenshot). So it would be a shame if Sierra Chart fell behind in this regard. I spent several hours searching the support board and found that there is a huge demand for this. However, no one has requested implementation yet. I found that some users have developed their own solutions. However, these are often imperfect and have various limitations. I believe that you would certainly offer a much more sophisticated and well-thought-out solution. In any case, I’m adding a list here in case anyone is interested. https://tradingedgeresources.gumroad.com/l/positionsizing https://orderflowtriggers.gumroad.com/l/executor https://www.scstudies.com/products/trade-manager https://polaristradinggroup.com/products-page/indicators/position-sizer-reward-risk-tool/ https://forgivingcomputers.com/product/risk-based-futures-position-sizer/ https://noesisanalytics.io/margin-9 Just for inspiration, this is the Trade Panel I’ve been using for MetaTrader for a long time. It’s really well-designed. https://www.mql5.com/en/market/product/35049?source=Unknown Thank you for considering my suggestion. |

Hi, I’ve been looking into position sizing solutions for Sierra Chart recently as well. One thing to keep in mind is that this has been requested by users for quite a long time already. There are multiple discussions on the support board about risk-based sizing and position calculators, but it doesn’t seem to be a feature that’s currently high on Sierra Chart’s development priorities. In the meantime, one option that hasn’t been mentioned much yet is Margin-9. It’s relatively new compared to some of the other tools, but from my experience it is quite professionally built, robust, and well documented. The setup process can be a bit complex at first (somewhat similar to Sierra Chart itself), but the upside is that it offers a lot of flexibility once everything is configured properly. I also found their support team to be very responsive whenever I ran into issues. That said, it isn’t perfect. At the moment it doesn’t support market-order based execution, and it’s also on the more expensive side compared to some alternatives. From what I’ve heard, they’re working on a major update that should expand order support and make the setup process much easier. For now, I’d say it’s definitely worth a look if advanced risk-based position sizing is important to you. Otherwise, it may be worth waiting for the next major release, her: https://noesisanalytics.dev/releases/margin-9 Good luck! |
