Performance Enhancements

I'd love to see a round of performance enhancements with Sierra Chart, and maybe some things are already being worked on. The biggest performance-related pain points for me with SC are:

1. Slow stopping/starting of replays, and SC is unresponsive while stopping/starting is loading. I want to be able to stop/start replays quickly without having to wait 1+ minutes each time I switch between stopping/starting. This happens even when only replaying a single chart.
2. Slow SIM to non-SIM and vice-versa.
3. Slow startup.
4. When the market is very high volume and moving quickly, SC performs pretty good but there is a noticeable decrease in performance. But with a high-performance computer, I would think that SC should be able to keep up with the market and not have any performance degradation. My CPU is a Ryzen 7800x3d, 32GB of RAM, RTX 5070 GPU.

It seems to me that SC could be utilizing my computer's capabilities much further than it currently does. I have heard SC boast about having low CPU/RAM usage, but for me, I want my CPU and RAM to be used if that means better performance. My computer is not used just for SC, but SC should get the highest priority when I am trading since of course it involves money. Even an optional high performance setting toggle would be nice.

Also, I have to use OpenGL to get the best performance out of SC. Direct3D or Vulkan support would be nice and likely would perform much better. Vulkan is the more interesting of the two since it would be compatible with Linux if/when SC offers a Linux option and can be compatible with Windows as well.

And last thought/point related to SC's interest in having a Linux version would be if somehow SC could utilize WSL2 (Windows Subsystem for Linux), for those folks where migrating their primary OS from Windows to Linux wouldn't be feasible/practical - WSL2 would allow them to keep Windows as their primary OS but run SC in Linux.

Not sure what all is possible, but it just seems to be like there is a LOT of room for SC to improve its already good performance (especially when it comes to UI responsiveness which has been discussed in these forums a lot) and I'd love to see SC take full advantage of the powerful current computer hardware and best-in-class software development.

Thank you,

@n8trading

This is supposed to be FYI !

If you go to the thread where we discuss hardware find post under "blt" to see my choices of hardware
I run 8 2k; 34" monitors with the same number of instances
NOT A ONE SINGLE PERFORMANCE ISSUE on my side !!!

Can't tell you what I have as my set-up being afraid SC will stop me of using this jewel
Insane amount of analytics and statistical stuff (I use ONLY SC studies !!!) on all monitors-all works to perfection !!!
There are things I do not do like many of you
Also I am almost "collocated" to Aurora Data Center in Illinois

I you fancy any other info you are welcome
Wish you all the best
