Does Teton routing support simultaneous long and short positions on the same futures instrument (MNQ) from two independent trading systems? eg. system A long term -> holding long for 10 hours system B short term -> scalping within that 10 hours (both long and short) Is it supported? or will it be netto position when long/short meets? I use AMP as broker Date Time Of Last Edit: 2026-05-22 19:35:04

You would need to have two different brokerage accounts to do this, one that will manage the Long position and one that will manage the Short position.
For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Yes you just will need 2 trading accounts. Have your broker set you up with two accounts to assign to your Sierra Chart username.

ok, but this si not very scalable. Lets say we are building a portfolio of trading systems so from what you said it means that each trading system needs to run on a completely separated brokerage account.

You definitely do not need more than two accounts because you can run, any number of trading systems on the same account. It is just that to go Long with one particular system needs one account, and to be Short for the same symbol, needs another account. But you can then use other trading systems on those same two accounts. And we would not really describe it as a completely separate brokerage account. What we are talking about, is subaccounts. Teton order routing supports subaccounts which can share the same balance: Trade Account and Risk Management: Managing SubAccounts Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. just for your info, hedging the same instrument on 1 account has nothing to do with Teton routing, this is something that is not allowed in the futures trading world :)

I think User135243 has got it right, there's some Regulation (in Futures) that says you can't put a position on when you have no chance of a profit or loss which means if you go long with Broker A and short with Broker B (now you have a flat position), the short trade with Broker B was not taken with a view to make a profit or loss. Something like this I believe. And they'll catch you as well because every trader is given a unique ID by the broker/Exchange so they'll know it's the same ID going long/short with 2 different brokers. Probably an intial slap on the wrist if you're trading small but something to consider. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2026-05-26 15:31:52
