I am trying to figure out why after I created a daily volume profile chart with CLM6 the lag on this chart is unreal. And yet I have the same chartlayout on my ESM6 and the chart doesnt lag at all.The total days loaded for these two charts are identical. Is there something with crude data that makes it lag so bad with 90 days of daily candles with volume by price on each one? I am trying just to have the naked pocs for each day display until future intersection. But I couldnt seem to find a way to do that without the volume profiles drawing on there for each day. Thanks

If this is a developing profile (i.e. taking into account new data as it is added) then it does have to calculate with each update, therefore the amount of data that has to be processed could have an impact.

But, the ES does 4-5 times as much trading as Crude Oil, so if you were going to see an impact, we would expect the other way around.

One of the items that affects a chart performance relative to the Volume by Price is if you are using Transparencies. It is best to not use transparent bars for the Volume by Price study.

Also, check that other studies are not causing the issue and it jsut appears to be the Volume by Price. Especially if you have any custom studies on the chart.

You state that you are really just wanting the Naked POCs, so we would recommend using the "Volume Value Area Lines" study and setting the "VAH" and "VAL" subgraphs to "Ignore". Then you can use the "Color Bar Based on Alert Condition" study to get the extension lines that you want. Refer to the following specific setup option for the Color Bar Based on Alert Condition to get what you want:
