Hello I just added funds to amp futures and was recommended to use CQG routing, but when I tried to setup to flatten positions if x loss occurs in Global Profit/Loss Management from what I can tell on Gemini SC does not support CQG in this area which is why I couldn't see my live account number on the drop down. If this is true, is there any other way I can setup a fail safe of sorts so a) if I go stupid it cuts the loss before it becomes catastrophic (no more then $2k daily loss) and locks it until next day b) I lose internet connection and I assume that means the Stop Loss will not work? Kind regards Gareth Pharaoh |

The "Global Profit/Loss Management" has no dependency on the connected trading service. It just monitors the Profit/Loss and sends a Flatten request if the set limit is hit. If you are not seeing your CQG account in the list at the top of the "Global Profit/Loss Management", then either you are not connected to CQG at that time, or you have the option for "Trade >> Trade Simulation Mode On" enabled. b) I lose internet connection and I assume that means the Stop Loss will not work?
If you lose Internet connection, then the Global Profit/Loss Management will not work. This feature is done within the software that is on your computer, and as mentioned above, it just sends a Flatten order when a limit is hit. So if you do not have connectivity, that order can not get to the market. There is no other solution from us (Sierra Chart) for this. OK perfect that worked I can see it now in the Loss Management, however, in regards to the loss of internet there is no solution at all, even with SC own routing service, do you call it Teton?

There is no solution from us. We do not know if CQG might have something. With Teton, there is a web-based trading panel, so if you still have access to the Internet from your phone (or something else) you can connect and take action on your trades. Also, with Teton, we did have a server based solution, but due to restrictions from the data vendors (i.e. the CME Group), we had to turn that option off. We have been working with the CME Group to see if there is a way for us to offer this again. But we do not know when/if that will occur. Oh so with Teton you can access your trades via your mobile to flatten trades in a emergency etc (assuming its not a power cut that takes out mobile networks and the fixed broadband at the same time but that has never happened to me yet!)
