I have run into the same problem reported earlier in October. I updated Sierra Chart to 1205 and then was unable to open any of my chartbooks. The log showed the invalid field code (0) message. I tried to copy the backup chartbooks as suggested in the support board thread, but they would not open either. I installed an earlier version of Sierra Charts (1199), but I still receive the same error message.

Below is a copy of the log. Please suggest a way to proceed. Thank you.

There are many backup Chartbooks available in the Backups folder. Did you try all of them?

Here is the documentation:

If you still have a problem post one of the Chartbooks here so we can test it. Here are instructions:

I found three backup Chartbooks in the Backups folder and tried all three and received the invalid field code (0) while opening the chartbook. I am attaching
one of the chartbooks that failed.

Yes I updated the Sierra Charts a couple of days ago and that is what started all the trouble. After the update my chartbooks in my file no longer would upload even though I was clearly connected (as shown by ability to upload other raw data, and as shown by green bar)

No I do not remember; but I had not updated for months, maybe over a year, which unfortunately is why I decided to finally update and got into this problem.

Thank you for offer; but today I solved the problem. I asked the people at Order Flow Edge to e-mail their latest chartbook which my I.T.guy transferred to my Sierra Chart and it worked(using the 1199 update). So I don't know why there was a problem but I'm a happy camper now.

OK this is good because we tried opening a Chartbook from about a year old version of Sierra Chart and it opened fine in the current version.

It does not work. I can send you a chartbook file to check. It has been more than a year since theses charts were used in sierra. Would really like to restore them.

Attach one of the Chartbooks you have a problem with here by following these instructions:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#AttachFile

Also, if you have not used a Chartbook for a year, there will be back up files for it in the Sierra Chart Data Files Folder. These will have a cbak file extension. Try renaming one of these back up files with a standard cht file extension and opening it.

You can determine the path to this folder through Global Settings >> General Settings >> Data Files Folder.

We have discovered the problem. We are going to be releasing 1210 in about a couple of hours which resolves this.
