Hi,
I am running a backtest on ES, with 5 tick range bar chart, with session volume profile. But as the Timeframe is very small (5 tick range bar chart), The VP looks very bumpy like blocks, Instead of very smooth. I already set tick per volume bar to 1.

IS there is any way to make it very smooth even on smaller timeframe so I can clearly identify LVN, Like maybe changing some chart settings or so?.

Your help would be really helpful in backtesting my strategy

If your Volume Profile is over a complete session, then it should look exactly the same for a time-based chart as it would in a range bar chart, as the data that the Volume Profile is being derived from is the same.

Please get us an image of what you are seeing by following these instructions:

And also duplicate the chart and change it to a 1 minute per bar chart and see if the Volume Profile changes (it should not).

hi,
Tick per volume bar of volume profile study is set to 1.

And no doubt the volume profile remains the same reglardless the timeframe I am using. But if you look on first picture of ES chart, the VP isn't very SMOOTH, Its look more like blocks.

However if you look on second picture of NQ, the VP here is very smooth, and very clean

SO my REQUEST to you is that I want to make ES VP very very smooth, just like NQ one.

DO you able to understand, and again your help would be really helpful

For the ES chart, what is "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Tick Size" set to?

It looks like this is not set to 0.25, which is the actual tick size of that symbol. This would be a reason for the Volume by Price profiles to not be "smooth".

As nowadays the volatility spikes on ES, so VP is still somewhat looks okay on 5 tick range bar chart, But as I am backtesting previous year and then volatility is normal, then the VP does not looks smooth

I really appreciate your help if you find any way to make VP smoother

2 of your 3 profiles look fine and have the bars being drawn at every tick.

The one profile - VP Delta Daily (ID: 19) - is set to have a "Ticks per Volume Bar" of 2. So this one is going to be "blockier" than the others.
