Hi Team, Please help me understand potential delays in writing to file when using "Write Bar and Study Data To File" study on a 1-minute chart. Issue description: I have added "Write Bar and Study Data To File" study to a 1-minute chart of ZNH26 futures contract, on a trading evaluator account. My expectation was that Sierra Chart would write to a designated file every minute, on the minute, when a 1-minute bar is closed. What I'm seeing instead is that the file is updated roughly every minute, but the exact time of update varies quite a bit. Sometimes it's a delay of 3 seconds, sometimes as much as 37 seconds. I confirmed it's not an issue with the file watcher - these are actual file modify timestamps. File updated, modify date: 2026-02-11 12:40:03.009
File updated, modify date: 2026-02-11 12:41:28.309 File updated, modify date: 2026-02-11 12:42:27.931 File updated, modify date: 2026-02-11 12:43:03.241 File updated, modify date: 2026-02-11 12:44:05.103 File updated, modify date: 2026-02-11 12:45:00.606 File updated, modify date: 2026-02-11 12:47:06.487 File updated, modify date: 2026-02-11 12:48:37.148 File updated, modify date: 2026-02-11 12:49:08.631 File updated, modify date: 2026-02-11 12:50:16.025 Can you help me understand what factors may influence these delays please. Thank you |

I can't be sure what time zone you are using, I am going to assume it is UTC+1 though So the first trade post 11:49:59 is at 2026-02-11 11:50:15.173000+00:00 this matches your write time of 12:50:16.025 The first trade post 11:48:59 is at 2026-02-11 11:49:07.995000+00:00 so that also matches your write time of 2026-02-11 12:49:08.631. If Sierra is updating the chart when it gets the next tick of trade post the bar close, that would be when the study writes out. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2026-02-11 13:11:54

I think you're spot on User150671 - this seems to be what's happening, ie. Sierra waits for the next tick post the bar close before writing to file. Thanks for pointing that out. I wonder if there is a way to force the study to write to file on the bar close instead, without waiting for next tick. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2026-02-11 14:22:34

No, as Sierra Chart has no way to know that a bar is actually closed until the next bar starts. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
