Is it possible in SC to create a chart grid similar to what is offered in ThinkorSwim or Tradestation ?

For example, One chart grid may contain market internals (i.e. 4x4), the other chart grid may contain major market indicies (i.e. 2x2) and the other chart may contain various sectors (i.e. 5x5). 3 main charts containing multiple charts within them.

Thanks in advance.

Not exactly. But you can detach charts from the main window:

And then they can be arranged in any layout you want on a monitor.

If they are attached to the main window you can arrange them through the Window >> Tile Vertically/Horizontally commands.

Having used Tradestation I know what User 83290 is referring to, which is something I put in a wish list a long time ago. When you have many charts in different chartbooks and lots of monitors you don't want to spend all day positioning and sizing them -- some charts need more emphasis, others less, etc. SC's vertical and horizontal window tiling is often useless or inadequate with more then 2 or 3 charts. Memorizable templates of grids which could be user-sized and controlled into which the charts could be snapped into and saved would save users alot of time.

+1 ...This is an useful feature and should be looked into especially considering sierra is paid and TOS is not. if Sierra likes to be still ahead of the charting game.

We will add a near-term task to completely revamp window tiling to support window tiling both on the main MDI window and detached charts.

We will completely remove the support for the OS tiling functions which are obviously not useful under various conditions.

The closest thing SC has is Chartbooks, which can be saved in a given 'tiled' configuration. Most of the time they seem to retain their previously saved window positions and sizes.

SC Team: Two key functions to consider when revamping tiling, which would be of great useful functionality/convenience and simulate close to the function of grids.

1. Ability to 'move' whole Chartbooks together.
2. Chartbook 'Collections' like Study collections, where a preset group of chartbooks can be saved/opened together.

Good to hear that. Will the revamp be done in 3-4 months timeframe or sooner?

Also another suggestion is having a watchlist of symbols load into the grid of windows tiled is a great feature to have by providing an option to load watclist symbols to charts, if that can be accomplished with the revamp that would be great

Please consider again adding these useful functions long requested for years:

1. Ability to 'move' whole Chartbooks together as a locked grid.

-This will avoid having to painfully set individually chart windows every time a change is needed.

2. Chartbook 'Collections' like Study collections, where a preset group of chartbooks can be saved/opened together.

-This will add much flexibility and avoid having to waste time opening single chartbooks one by one, when one needs specific groups of them, and not either no chartbooks or all chartbooks automatically loaded.

Has there been any progress on this feature? I'm looking at switching over to SC full-time and after chugging along customizing and setting up SC this is the first issue that is presenting a real problem for me working across three high resolution monitors. I see that SC support back in 2016 said, "We will add a near-term task to completely revamp window tiling to support window tiling both on the main MDI window and detached charts." Is this something that is done, being worked on, or just can't be implemented within the exiting SC/Windows framework.

Yes all of this has been done years ago:
"We will add a near-term task to completely revamp window tiling to support window tiling both on the main MDI window and detached charts."
